Olmsted helped to shine a light on the intrinsic link between the well-being of people and places.
Baltimore parks and landscapes play an instrumental role in many municipal strategies for building a more resilient and vibrant city. At the 2025 FMOPL Annual Meeting, we’ll hear about some of the actions the City of Baltimore is taking to adapt to climate change, increase resilience and safety, improve public health and provide valuable recreational experiences through its parks, green spaces and landscapes. By focusing on co-benefits in the City’s approach to resiliency, it follows many of the principles of integrating quality of life, environmental health and the value of enjoying time outdoors that were key to Olmsted’s approach to design.
Join us to hear from Baltimore City Sustainability Director Ava Richardson and Department of Recreation & Parks Director Reginald Moore and Capital Director Adam Boarman to learn about current and future strategies designed to use the City’s land and natural and recreational resources to build a more sustainable city.
